Three kinds of room, for three different problems.
Availability, dimensions and rates vary by building and by date. Tell us what you need and we will tell you what we have.
- 01
- Exhibition
Exhibition space
Rooms for showing work, hired by the day or the week. What matters in an exhibition room is mostly invisible until it is missing: consistent lighting that can be aimed, a hanging system that does not require the walls to be made good afterwards, enough power in the right places, and a route from the street by which large work can actually get in.
We will tell you the door widths, the lift dimensions, the wall loadings and the lighting circuit before you book, because those are the facts that decide whether a show is possible.

- Studio
Studio space
Space to make work in, on longer terms than exhibition hire. The requirements are different and in some ways more demanding: floor loading for heavy or wet work, ventilation where solvents are in use, water where the practice needs it, and light that is consistent enough to judge colour by.
We will be straightforward about what a given space can and cannot support. A studio that cannot take the weight, or ventilate properly, is not a studio for that practice, and it is better established before a licence is signed.

Storage
Most work spends most of its life in storage, and storage is where avoidable damage happens. The relevant questions are humidity and temperature stability, security, whether the racking suits the format, and who is permitted access.
Storage is provided as a facility. We do not accept responsibility for the value of works stored, and anyone storing work should insure it — see the hiring terms.
